Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health
is a premier organization promoting tertiary level Child Health Care services. It is an autonomous body, registered under Karnataka Societies Registration Act 1960 functioning under the control of Ministry of Medical Education, Government of Karnataka. It is located in its own premises next to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences at South Hospital Complex in Bangalore.
The Institute has two main constitutional bodies, namely the General body and Governing Council. The General body formulates overall policies while the Governing Council is responsible for the management and administration of the Institute. Both these bodies comprise members nominated by the Government of Karnataka from time to time.
